Margaret “Margie” Ann Chilton
of Pleasant Hill, Iowa

Margie Chilton, age 70, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, September 21, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 28, 1952 in Fort Madison, IA to Richard and Antonia Mosqueda.

Margie graduated from Lincoln High School with the Class of 1971, and then attended cosmetology school. She later returned to the family business, Tasty Tacos and retired in 2018. Margie was a hard worker and instilled a hard work ethic into her children and grandchildren.

Margie lived life to its fullest. She loved traveling, experiencing all the adventures she could and learning about different cultures. She loved going to concerts and listening to music. Margie also, loved the ocean and snorkeling. She cherished her role as a grandma and was heavily involved in all of her grandchildren’s activities. Many people called her grandma Margie. She was their biggest fan and supported them in everything they did and was always present. The party didn’t start without Margie.

Margie had the most beautiful, contagious, and radiant smile that had the ability to light up an entire room. She knew how to show her love and make people feel special. She brought endless joy and laughter to everyone she met. People were drawn to her charisma, compassionate heart, sense of humor, and sincerity. She was most generous person you could hope to know. Margie challenged her family to go and think outside of their comfort zones.
She firmly believed in second chances, and that people can change. Margie touched so many lives. She left this world a much better place than it was when she entered it. Above everything, her greatest love was her family and she made it very evident.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving mother Antonia Mosqueda, children Raymond (Carrie) Howell, Ronald Chilton, Jr., Regina (Thorin) King, and Roxanne (Jeff Hart) Lovan, grandchildren Mason, Ashley, Ariesa, Alysa, Meggen, Kellen, McKenzie, Kaynin, Mylah, Yalayzah, Yalitza, and Camilah, great-grandchildren, siblings Larry (Patty) Mosqueda, Linda (Randy) Blair, and Rick (Debbie) Mosqueda, sister-in-law Tammy Mosqueda, a host of nieces and nephews, many special friends, other loving relatives and extended family members of the Chilton family in Dayton, Ohio.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Chilton who died in 1989, father Richard Mosqueda, brothers Andre “Andy” (Terry) Mosqueda and Ronald “Ronnie” Mosqueda, paternal grandparents Canuto and Florencia Mosqueda, and her maternal grandparents Benito and Herminia Sandoval.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 29, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 3300 Easton Blvd., followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery.
