Patricia Ann Poole Cochrane
December 5, 1943 – July 12, 2026

Patricia "Pat" Ann Poole Cochrane, age 82, peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by the love of her family.

She will be remembered for her warm smile, kind heart and the love and compassion she extended to all those whom were fortunate to know her. Her happiness was spending time with her family celebrating life’s special moments and creating lasting memories. Her family was her treasure and the center of her world. She so loved her grandkids more than life itself. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and unconditional love will continue through those many lives she has touched.

She loved crocheting, especially baby blankets for her grandbabies to be. Beautiful treasures she left behind for them to treasure always. She so enjoyed her monthly luncheon with her friends from the bus garage to catch up with each other on things in their lives and of course her trips to Prairie Meadows. If you knew her you knew she couldn’t drive by there without a quick stop… that turned into hours. She was one of the biggest Mickey Mouse and Elvis fan you ever seen. She so cherished her many collectables of them. She worked many years for Bob Allen, K-mart on the Eastside and The Des Moines Public Schools 1988-2005 & Johnston School District as a Bus Driver and Associate in the later years.

She leaves behind her loving family who will forever cherish her memory. Though their hearts are heavy with sorrow, they find comfort in knowing that her love and the countless memories she created will remain with them always.

Patricia is survived by her three children, Frank (Heidi) Cochrane, Kathy (Barry) Mutchler, and Mark (Jessica) Cochrane; grandchildren, Kristy, Frank III (Chelsea), Jessica, Dylan Cochrane, Megan (Jacob) Tott, Terry Stockbauer, Arein, Natasha Mutchler, Noel (Josh) Crouse, Raymond (Tera) Cochrane, Kody Mutchler, Zach, Trever (Nikole) Robinson, and Cara Diamond; and great-grandchildren, Alexander, Lidianna, Alexis, Frank IIII, Bane, Brayden, Bentley, Elner, Casey, Paizlynn, Lizzy, Luke, Amelia, Charley, Emma, Ethan, Mason, Warryn, Oakley, Laiynie, Peyton, Mary, George, Ellie, Robbie, Joey, Delaina, and Braydon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred “Irene” & Walt Poole, husband, Frank “Doyle” Cochrane, sisters, Judy Kindhart, Mary Mahaney, and Ella Gwartney, brothers, Bill, Chuck, and Robert Poole, and great-grandson, Dillon Clement. Patricia was welcomed into eternal peace by those who preceded her in death, where she now rests in the loving presence of the Lord.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on August 1, 2026, at Baldwin Patterson Legion Hall, 2211 E. 42nd St., Des Moines, IA 50317. Please come and share memories of her with us filled with love and laughter.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers, support and love shown to us during this difficult time. Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.
