Patricia Lou Hartman
August 19, 1936 — May 08, 2026
Patricia Lou Hartman (Siekman)
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother and great-great-grandmother, passed away after returning to her home state of Iowa, on May 8, 2026, at the age of 89 years and 8 months. Her beloved daughter and son-in-law were by her side when she passed into eternal rest.
Born in Storm Lake, Iowa, on August 19, 1936, to Lewis and Idella Siekman. Patricia was the youngest of three children. She had two brothers, of whom she loved dearly, Gerald Dean and Richard Lewis.
Patricia, known to her many friends as Patti, was baptized and confirmed at Little Sioux Valley Lutheran Church, in Rembrandt, Ia.
She graduated from Highview School in 1956. She received a basketball scholarship to a business college, in Sioux City, where she played basketball for two years.
Patricia was married and had a daughter, Lynne Marie, who was her pride and joy.
Patricia worked at Sioux Honey Association, in Sioux City, for 30 years, retiring in 1999. After her retirement, she moved to Green Valley, Arizona, and lived for the next 26 years, golfing, traveling, making new friends, playing cards, cribbage and enjoying life to the fullest.
She was a lifelong athlete, playing basketball, softball and golf. Patricia was extremely proud to have been named an All-Conference Guard.
Patti loved to watch college sports and was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Arizona Wildcats. She had a wealth of sports trivia and recall for game highlights and rivalries.
Patricia’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave her many, many years of joy, watching their sports and activities and keeping up through FaceTime calls. She looked forward to spending summers with them, in Iowa. She also treasured her summer’s spent with her special friend Jerry, in Okoboji.
At the age of 3, Patricia acquired Scarlett Fever. At 8 years of age, it was discovered that Patti had lost most all of her hearing.
She felt, “Her greatest achievement was when she became a candidate to have a cochlear implant and be part of experiments in 1994, at The University of Iowa. She felt blessed to hear again.”

Your dearest Pat, our dear friend. We met her at Our Lady of the Valley over a decade and a half. The most dearest, sweet and kind person. We were drawn to her from the beginning. She so enjoyed watching our kids grow into adulthood and genuinely excited for them when they graduated college and got married. A true blessing to us. My heart aches and I will always be looking for her and church. Blessed are we that had the honor of knowing her. And I’ll miss all the tight hugs and her amazing smile. We send our condolences to her family.

Pat was like a grandmother to me and was the best next door neighbor anyone could have. I have so many memories of her from growing up and will treasure her love for life.
