Paul Louis Gregory, 92, passed away September 29, 2025.

Paul was born February 4, 1933, to Vernal and Daisy Gregory in Kellogg, Iowa. He graduated from Kellogg High School in 1951. He was a Veteran, serving in the US Army from 1953-1955, spending 11 months in Korea. In 2014, he was thrilled to participate in an honor flight to Washington D.C. After his military service, he attended Simpson College. He married June Anderson on August 25, 1957. After college he worked his entire career at Equitable Life Insurance Company of Iowa, retiring in 1993. Paul and June moved to Altoona in 1959 and raised their children there. He lived the rest of his life in the house they had built in 1964.

Paul played baseball and basketball at Kellogg High School and played baseball with Newton and Grinnell Junior Legion teams. He loved coaching Little League and Senior League baseball in Altoona. Paul enjoyed watching all Iowa sports teams, both men and women. He also loved quartet singing. Paul sang in two successful quartets in the Kellogg area in high school and sang in various barbershop and gospel quartets as an adult. After retirement, Paul and June helped form The Cornerstone Quartet in Altoona, performing in various churches in Central Iowa for over a decade and recording 3 CD’s. He always enjoyed attending music and sporting events of his children and grandchildren.

Paul is survived by his brother, Dean (Gloria) Gregory of Pleasanton, California; his daughter, Terry (Steve) Van Dusseldorp of Pella, Iowa; his son, Dave (Tammy) Gregory of Altoona, Iowa; his grandchildren, Mike (Heather) Van Dusseldorp, Laurel (Ryan) Pangman, Mark Van Dusseldorp, Sara (Andy) Nielsen, and Brett Gregory; as well as his six great-grandchildren, Henrik and Mira Van Dusseldorp, Olivia, Emilia and Sophia Pangman, and Samuel Nielsen.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, June (Anderson) Gregory; his sister, Leona Kechel; and his brother, Ernie Gregory.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025, at The Bridge; 10025 NW 62nd Avenue, Johnston, Iowa. A visitation and cookie reception will immediately follow the service at 2:00 p.m. Paul will be laid to rest during a private family burial at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg, Iowa.
