Robert Huck

Robert Huck, 93, passed away on March 13, 2026, with his daughter Vicki by his side.

Bob was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 16, 1932, where he grew up and made lifelong friends whom he had remained in frequent contact with until his dying day.

Bob was proud of his service in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Bob married the love of his life, Marian Ruth Thomson, on June 18, 1960, and they had 60 years together before Marian’s passing in 2020. Their years of working and raising family were spent in Des Moines, IA where Bob worked for Canteen Corporation. Bob and Marian retired to Wilmington, N.C. in 1987 where they lived for 18 years, Western N.C, and subsequently Bluffton, SC another 15 years. Bob returned to Des Moines in 2020 to be close to his daughter and son-in-law.

Bob was preceded in death by his father Donald Huck, mother Georgia Huck, sister Betty Lytle and beloved wife Marian. Left to cherish his memory are his son Steve (Patti), daughter Vicki Facto (Timothy), grandchildren Michele Huck and Jessica Cosme (Brandon), great grandchildren Grace and Adrian Cosme and many nieces and nephews.

No service is being held at Bob’s request.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Friends of Des Moines Parks or a charity of your choice in memory of Robert.
