Ruth Elaine Clikeman
November 01, 1946 — May 11, 2025
Ruth Elaine Clikeman, 78, passed away on May 11, 2025, at Ramsey Village in Des Moines, Iowa.
Ruth was born on November 1, 1946, in Wells, Minnesota. At a young age, she was adopted by George and Eula (Nielson) Lorenz. As a child, Ruth spent time showing cattle and sheep. Ruth was an amazing singer and loved doing so, for many years she had shared her talent of singing by being apart of choirs and also singing at her church. She was also very well known for her skills at baking. Ruth cherished the moments she got to spend sharing recipes with her granddaughter, Malaya, and also the precious moments of teaching her great-granddaughter, Neveah, how to bake as well. Ruth was a wonderful wife and a loving mother to her children, Tammy Lee and Bradford, she enjoyed being a mom and was proud of her title as “mom”. She was truly a mother-figure to so many others and always welcomed everyone with loving arms. Ruth made her home a safe place that many people went to when they were in tough times. Ruth treasured any time she spent with her family; but above all her time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren was truly her deepest joy in life. To Ruth, being a grandmother and great-grandmother was one of her favorite things in the world. Ruth was a proud member of the Red Hat Society also.
Ruth is survived by her husband, James Clikeman; her son, Mike (Shawna) Porter; her granddaughter, Malaya (James) Farmer; and her three great-grandchildren, Neveah, Bradley, and Nyome Farmer.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, George and Eula; her daughter, Tammy Lee; and her son, Bradford Clikeman.
