Ryan M. Houska

Ryan Michael Houska left his earthly home on Saturday, April 18, 2026. He is survived by his loving family: Erin (wife), Brandon Houska (son), Eden Houska (daughter), Clint Keeling (son), Delaney Wright (daughter), Jolene Bates (mother), Laurie Houska (sister), Madison (Zach) Houska (niece), Jaden Schmitt (nephew), Makenna Schmitt (niece), Grayson Schmitt (nephew), Kathy Weatherly (aunt), Linda and Louie Lynch, Terry Benda, and Patti Griffith (in-laws), Murphy and Maverick (fur babies), as well as many cousins, family, and friends. Ryan was preceded in death by his father Kurt, stepmother Amy Jo, grandparents Eunice and Don Houska, and Mary and Ed Bates, and his little buddy Maximillion Wood.

Ryan loved spending time fishing, camping, and tearing around on ATVs. He was a jokester and enjoyed making others laugh, pulling pranks, and having a good time. He was stubborn as they come, a trait inherited, that sometimes caused his loved ones grief. Ryan was a Hawkeye fan who always gave Erin a hard time for wasting her life being a Nebraska fan. He loved deeply, cared about so many, and always gave a helping hand.

There will be a celebration of life from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Yellow Banks Prairieview Shelter, 6801 SE 32nd Avenue, Pleasant Hill, IA 50327.
