Samantha "Sam" Leigh Moore
March 22, 2007 — May 04, 2026
Samantha "Sam" Moore, 19, of Ankeny, Iowa, ran into the arms of her Heavenly Father on May 4, 2026, after succumbing to injuries sustained in a car accident.
Born smiling, Samantha was a bright light to all who knew her, an extremely thoughtful soul, and an easy person to love, with numerous cherished friends and relatives. Above all, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and she loved studying her Bible, setting aside devoted time each day for scripture and prayer.
A 2025 graduate of Ankeny High School, Samantha was continuing her studies at DMACC. A regular attender of Prairie Ridge Church, she volunteered in the nursery on Sundays and was active in her faith community. Samantha loved her pets, journaling and drawing, music and marching band, baking, and spending time with her very close-knit family. She also worked with students at Southeast Elementary’s before- and after-school program, where she brought encouragement, patience, and cheer.
Samantha will be remembered for her constant smile, servant’s heart, and unwavering faith.
Samantha is survived by her mother, Maggie Moore (Ankeny); her father, Bryon Moore, and stepmother Cheryl Moore (West Des Moines); her brother, Joseph Moore (Ankeny); her sister, Natalie Moore (Ankeny); stepbrothers and stepsisters Lucas (Brenna) Gray, Anthony (Miggie) Gray, Michael Gray, and Elizabeth (Jose) Erazo; her grandparents, Larry and Donna Shaner (Ankeny); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ernest and Delores Moore.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
