Sandra R ‘Sandy’ Baker

Sandy R. Baker, 69, of Des Moines, IA, passed away on May 8, 2025 at Iowa Methodist Hospital.

She was born in Des Moines on August 29, 1955, to Marguerite (Knause) and Henry Overton.

She had a strong faith in God and loved her family deeply. She attended Lee Town Assembly Church for many years. Sandy enjoyed collecting angels and was an avid dog lover. She had an appreciation for antiques and loved spending time with her beloved dog, Baby Girl.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenny, in December 2024, her parents, her sisters Betty Scott, Mary Ross, and Cleo Randel, and her brother Henry ‘Wimpy’ Randel.

She is survived by her children Rick Vogel, Heather Mohler, Jamie Vandermark, Todd Baggs, Jeremy Mohler, Kori Richardson, Danny Weir, Cody Baker, and Jesse Baker, 30 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, and many other extended family members.

No service is planned. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
