Scott James Glass, 82, of Altoona passed away on February 4, 2026.

He was born October 6, 1943 to Raymond “Jim” Glass and Barbara Parker Glass (later Greenlee). Scott was raised in Des Moines and graduated from Des Moines Technical High School. He was later employed by Fair Play Scoreboards for 43 years in the paint and signs department. He was drafted into the Army for 2 years and served a year in Vietnam. Scott married his wife Janet on January 3, 1986 and they spent 40 wonderful years together. They were blessed to spend 19 winters in Apache Junction, Arizona where he enjoyed shuffleboard, bocce ball, cards with friends, and dancing with his wife.

Scott enjoyed fishing and camping. He also enjoyed country western and bluegrass music. Most of all he enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in sports, band, and choir.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janet; three sons, Kelly, Kevin (Tabetha), and Kirk; step daughter, Julie (Larry) Cullinan; step son, Matthew (Jean) Ballard; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather; stepmother; and his youngest brother, Tom.

Family will greet friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Altoona Christian Church, 2890 First Avenue S in Altoona. Memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. also at the church. Service will be livestreamed below. Scotts cremains will be interred at Altoona Cemetery at a later date.
