Songkham Vong
of Des Moines, Iowa

Taken far too soon, Songkham passed away on June 15, 2025, forever leaving his mark in this world. He was born the son of Kouithondgy and Home Vong, on October 10, 1965 in Vientiane.

Songkham approached life with a calm and welcoming spirit. Known for his easy-going nature, he found happiness in the company of close friends and family. He embodied the spirit of 80's rock music and carried that era's carefree energy throughout his life. He will be remembered for his kind heart and the unconditional love he had for his parents, siblings, nieces, nephews and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving mother, Home Vong; sisters, Kean (Sun) Wong, Manyvone Vong (Tom Young), Souk (Khamsone) Luck, Bo (Don) Khongmaly and Massa (Ryan) Atchison.

Songkham was preceded in death by his father, Kouithongdy Vong.

A funeral service will take place on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at 1:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, Iowa
