Tawanna Lynn Spencer

Tawanna Lynn Spencer, age 67, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Royal Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Urbandale. She was born the daughter of Wilbur and Dorthy (Stoneburner) Spencer on December 31, 1957 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Tawanna loved singing karaoke and was a skilled pool player, known as a bit of a pool shark who won several tournaments. She enjoyed making jewelry, drawing, and cutting hair, even if others joked that it wasn’t her best talent. She especially loved decorating cakes during her time at the bakery. She will be missed, and her family will forever cherish her memory.

She is lovingly survived by her children Shawnna Cunningham, Amanda (Charlie) Burch, Lacey Cunningham, and Jose Gonzalez, grandchildren Michelle VanSickle, Alesia (Gabe) Bailey, Kendall Fuller, Nathan Cannon, Hayden Baker, Charlie Burch, Aaron (Lexee) Chandler, Ezabell Chandler, Amelia Chandler, and Payton Chandler, great-grandchildren Marlee Haze, Maverick Grimes, Lucas Bailey, Colton Bailey, Addison Bailey, Theo Bailey, Ellianna Bailey, and Holley Bailey, niece Christina (Josh) Heady, and great-nieces and nephews Damian (Taylor) Miller, Devin Miller, Jasmine Miller, and Josh Heady.

Tawanna was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Dorthy Spencer, brother Doug Spencer, sister Melody Spencer and Murphy, and her daughter Martina Gonzalez.
