Tha Bweh
March 24, 1959 — May 30, 2026
Tha Bweh (Saw Mark), 67, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Tha was born on March 24, 1959, in Thandaung, Myanmar, to U Kan Gyi and Naw Tha Kwee. He spent much of his childhood in Thandaung and later grew up in Baw Naw Refugee Camp, where he met his wife, married, and began raising a family.
Tha dedicated his life to military service and was deeply committed to serving others. He was also a faithful member of the Anglican Church, where his faith provided guidance and strength throughout his life.
Known for his adventurous spirit, Tha loved traveling with friends and sharing stories from his journeys. One of his favorite destinations was Mount Rushmore, a place he enjoyed visiting and talking about with family and friends. Above all, Tha cherished time spent with his children, nieces, and nephews.
His nephew Larry fondly remembers disc golfing with his uncle. One of his favorite memories was making a par while Tha jumped with excitement to celebrate the achievement. Many of his nieces and nephews also treasured the times when Tha would gather the younger cousins together and entertain them with stories and laughter.
Tha enjoyed simple pleasures, especially sharing meals with loved ones. His favorite foods were pork belly and nya oo tee, and he especially enjoyed pork belly soup.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Wah Wah, Jay Jay, and Cho Toe Noe; his sisters, Naw Khin Chit (Naw Moo Lei), Naw Khin Chaw (Naw Mu Law), and Naw Thingi Soe; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Tha was preceded in death by his parents, U Kan Gyi and Naw Tha Kwee; and his brother, Saw Tha Mu.
