Timothy William Brandt
September 10, 1951 — August 03, 2026
Timothy William Brandt
of Mitchellville, Iowa
Timothy William Brandt, 74, passed away peacefully at home on August 3, 2026. Tim was born on September 10, 1951, and was the son to Albert and Beverly Brandt. He grew up in Chicago and Des Moines.
After high school, Tim proudly served in the United States Army. He dedicated much of his life to serving others in a variety of roles. Tim spent much of his career working in construction with Weitz and later served as the Public Works Director for the City of Mitchellville. Most recently, he celebrated 50 years as a proud member of Local 177.
Tim will be remembered for his quick wit, ability to fix just about anything, ornery sense of humor, and love of collecting all kinds of treasures. He had a unique way of finding value and purpose in things others might overlook. His family will especially cherish the love he showed and the joy he found in spending time with his grandchildren. Tim's one-of-a-kind personality touched the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Marsha; his children, Schelsy (A.J.) and Nick (Megan); and his grandchildren, Chloe, Isaac, Audrey, and Ava. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Brandt, along with many cherished in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Beverly Brandt, and his brother, Dennis Brandt.
Tim leaves behind a lifetime of memories, stories, and words of advice. More importantly, he leaves behind the people who loved him deeply and will carry his memory with them always.
A Celebration of Life, open house, will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., at Doans Youth Center, 5050 Doanes Park Road, Pleasant Hill, Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in Tim's memory.
