In Loving Memory of Tum In
June 3, 1950 – August 27, 2025

Tum In, 75, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on August 27, 2025, at Iowa Methodist Hospital. He was born on June 3, 1950, in Thailand and raised in Cambodia. After fleeing war and spending years in a refugee camp, Tum and his family resettled in Des Moines in 1979.

Tum is survived by his wife, Sambour; his brothers Po Van (Ouy Da-Van) and Roeum Van (Sarath Sorn); his sister Yom Van (Rem Tap); his children Rotha Tum (April), Renthy Tum, and Rotoewn In (Sue); and his grandchildren Mooqie, Isabel, Kaydin, Khi, Nolan, and his great-granddaughter Iriel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chouk In and Pou Pel; his brother, Uon In; and his daughter, Sove Tum.

Family will greet guests on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, Iowa. Service will follow at 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

He will be remembered for his love of family, his kindness, and his service to his community.
