With heavy hearts, Ai Me will forever be missed, always remembered, and deeply loved.
He never missed a chance to celebrate — whether it was a holiday, a birthday, a family cookout, a smoked turkey leg (can't forget a BigMac), a NE Patriots touchdown, or simply the joy of everyone being together. He always believed life was meant to be enjoyed.
We are thankful that Ai Me found peace with a fishing pole in his hands and joy around a pool table, where friendly competition often turned into stories, playful banter, and unforgettable laughter. But more than his hobbies, it was the goofiness in his heart and the love he carried for others that truly defined him.
Though our hearts ache in his absence, we are grateful for every memory, every celebration, every fishing trip, and every shared joke.

I can't even begin to express my condolences for your loss. There are no words that can help. Just knowing what his loss means to his friends, I can't imagine the deep hole it leaves in the hearts of his family. The world has truly lost a great man. We need more people like Vilay. Someone raised one heck of an individual with this one. We met Vilay through the Southside pool league in Des Moines and instantly fell in love with him. His smile and attitude was so infectious. Our kids met him through APA and they loved him too. That is the kind of man he was. Always had a smile on his face, ALWAYS. Always had a hug for everyone. Always tried to put a smile on everyone else's face, loved to have a good time, and just hang out. Seemed like he loved everybody and make friends wherever he was. In the years we've known him I've never heard anyone say anything bad about Vilay. He is already greatly missed. I was in Waterloo when I heard the horrible news of his passing. Later that night Brittany was blaring through the sound system. I choose to believe that was Vilay letting me know he had made it home. It's about 50 years too soon but we're glad you made it. RIP, Vilay. I only hope that when I leave this world I end up in the same place you are so I can get just one more of those Vilay hugs. Until then, I guess all we can say is goodbye for now. We love you buddy.

I worked with Vilay when he first started here at Banker Trust. He always had a great attitude and was fun to work with. I will miss the golfing and Bowling we would do as a group. He and I had a thing in common....we loved food! He taught me so much about his Culture and I will always cherish that. He shared the same Birthday as my wife.( So now I will have to remember hers it on my own!) My deepest sympathy goes to all his family!

My time with Vilay was short, but nonetheless memorable. Thank you for always having a welcoming smile, and a rubber band to launch across the way. Things won't be the same without you around. Rest easy, and prayers for family and friends during this difficult time.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I worked at the bank with Vilay. I didn't work directly with him, but I had several interactions with him. He was always kind and respectful, hilarious, and people loved him. I know the Bankers Trust family at South and everywhere will miss him. Rest Easy sir and I hope they are blasting some Britney Spears for you.
