Lucretia "Chris" DeCarlo Jones
October 02, 2011
Lucretia “Chris” DeCarlo Jones passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, after a long, courageous fight with cancer.
Chris was born to Joe and Phyllis DeCarlo on September 17, 1957, in Des Moines. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1975. After graduating college, she worked in the financial industry for 35 years, most recently at Hewlett Packard as an Advanced Business Analyst. On August 2, 2001, Chris was united in marriage to Don Jones.
Chris will be remembered as a beautiful, thoughtful and caring person. She never missed the opportunity to tell someone she loved them. She was a dedicated and hard worker but loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. Those who knew and loved her will be forever grateful for her beauty, grace and love of life.
Those left to cherish Chris’ memory are her husband, Donald Jones, Jr.; her step-daughter, Caroline Jones; her mother, Phyllis DeCarlo; her sister, Jody (Jeff) Crane; her nieces, Kelly (Joseph) Johnston and Katie Crane; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Chris was preceded in death by her father, Joseph DeCarlo; her paternal grandparents, Rocco and Lucretia DeCarlo; and maternal grandparents, Dino and Virgene Masolini.
Family will greet friends on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. until service time, at St. Ambrose Cathedral, 6th and High, in Des Moines. A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Lung Association in Iowa for lung cancer research or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in honor of Chris DeCarlo Jones.

I knew Chris when she lived in Kansas City. She was a very gracious person, with impeccable taste, and a great sense of humor - a really classy lady.
I'll never forget packing the moving van to move her back to Des Moines, she didn't think we would get all of her belongings in the truck - but we did it!
My condolences to the family.

I only had the privilege of knowing Chris for a short time. Every time you were
around her you just felt comfortable and relaxed, as if you have known her forever. It was a real pleasure knowing her and she will be missed.

I will never forget the many projects we worked on together with the old gang at FIT. Chris was a skilled professional on the job and loads of fun when the workday was finished; what a great sense of humor and always so kind to everyone. She will greatly missed, but we will have many wonderful lasting memories to cherish.

I had the privilege to work with Chris on a daily basis during her time as project manager on our team, Convenience Pay Services. I didn't see her much in person but knew her voice well. I share in your loss of this kind person!

My deepest sympathy to the family. Chris and I had some good times growing up. I tried to see her this past year and was unsuccessful. I will keep her and all of you in my prayers and thoughts as you go through this very sad time.
The Lord needed her to fulfill his plan and she is at peace. God Bless you all!
