Mark David Peterson

Mark David Peterson, age 23, beloved son and brother, unforgettable uncle, teacher, and friend passed from this life on Saturday, April 10, 2010 from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.

Mark was a thoughtful and humble servant of God who touched deeply all he encountered with his gentle spirit. He graduated from Carlisle High School in 2004 and Northwestern College in 2008 with an English degree.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents Michael and Phyllis Peterson; grandmothers Shirley Peterson and Ruth Zeilenga; brothers Rob (Shawna), Eric (Ronda), and Andy (Heather); nephews Nathan and Jonah; nieces Shianne, Nicole, Claire, Lily, and Scarlett, as well as countless aunts and uncles, cousins, friends, family and students.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 13, from 5-8 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines, with services Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Crossroads Church, 2601 Border Street, Norwalk.

In lieu of flowers, Mark’s family asks you to consider a gift to the Orient-Macksburg school system for a scholarship fund in his honor.
